Q. How many sessions will it take to quit smoking cigarettes?
A. Many clients stop smoking after one session. If you are very stressed, one option is to do a stress-reduction session first, followed by smoking cessation.
Q. If I smoke cigarettes and marijuana, do I have to quit both?
A. No. It's your personal choice.
Q. I am a heavy smoker; will it take more sessions to stop?
A. No. The number of sessions depends on other factors, like how much stress you may be experiencing or if you have other substance abuse issues. There is no clear-cut way of predicting the number of sessions. Most people are successful after one session.
Q. Does hypnosis work for those addicted to nicotine patches, gums, sprays, and vaping?
"In 2010, I came from Vancouver to visit family in Kitchener and had been a smoker for over 40 years. I had no plan to give up the habit, but Elaine, an old family friend, has just graduated as a hypnotist and wanted to try out a stop-smoking program she created.
Surprisingly, I don't remember much of the session, but I am very happy to say I stopped smoking immediately without any withdrawal symptoms. It was as though I had never smoked. Amazing!" Bill Watt, Vancouver
